The quest for spiritual guidance often leads people to search for the Best Tantrik in Kolkata, but as someone who has dedicated over three decades to the sacred arts, I believe it is time to have an honest conversation about what that title really meansâand why it is often a misleading label. In the realm of spiritual healing and ancient Shastra, the idea of a single “best” practitioner is not only a myth but a contradiction to the very essence of the work we do.
The Myth of Universal Mastery
In my 35 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working closely with some of the most respected tantriks and astrologers across India. If there is one thing I have witnessed firsthand, it is this: no single person can be the “best” at everything.
Tantra is a vast ocean. A practitioner who has spent their life mastering Hindu Shastra and Vedic rituals will naturally not possess the same depth in Islamic rituals or other specialised mystic traditions. Spiritual work is a matter of deep, focused lineage and practice. Claiming to be the absolute authority across all branches of tantra is like a doctor claiming to be the world’s best surgeon, cardiologist, and paediatrician all at once. It simply isn’t possible, and more importantly, it isn’t honest.
The Sacred Nature of True Tantra
I strongly believe that a true Tantrik would never display their core rituals or “secret” works on social media or public platforms. To those of us who treat this path as a calling, our work is sacred. It is a private communion between the practitioner, the seeker, and the Divine.
Lately, I have watched with a heavy heart as many astrologers and tantriks lose their way, driven by a lust for power, fame, and financial gain. They turn ancient rituals into spectacles for views and likes. Without hesitation, I can say that those who prioritise social media displays over the sanctity of the ritual are not true worshippers of this noble work. True power does not need to shout; it speaks through the results and the peace it brings to a troubled soul.
A Legacy of Learning: My Mentors
My journey has been shaped by the wisdom of those who came before me. I owe my foundation to four incredible mentors:
- Kamakhya Charan Acharjee: My father, my first teacher, who passed away in 1993 but whose principles still guide every breath I take.
- Dwarkanath Bhattacharjee: Who taught me the nuances of tradition.
- Krishnakanth Sharma: Who showed me the depth of spiritual discipline.
- Kalyanchandra DebSharma: Who expanded my understanding of the cosmic laws.
Even after decades, I do not claim to know everything. I am still a student. Every new person I meet and every complex problem I encounter teaches me something new. The moment a practitioner stops learning is the moment they stop being effective.
The Power of Collaboration and Humility
Perhaps the most valuable lesson I have learned is the understanding of my own strengths and limitations. Realising that I cannot solve every problem alone has been my most humbling experience.
There are tasks where I excel, but there are also situations that benefit greatly from collaboration with other genuine tantriks. I do not hesitate to join forces with other true practitioners if it means a better outcome for my clients. Our goal is not personal glory; it is to ensure that the “joint venture” of our spiritual energy bears the right fruit for the people who come to us in pain. We are here to better lives, not to feed our egos.
How to Verify a Practitioner
I urge everyone: before you place your trust in someone claiming to be the “best”, please cross-check their professional achievements and experience. Do not be swayed by flashy advertisements. Personally, it pained me to see our noble profession being tainted by those who con innocent, helpless people.
Verify everything to the best of your abilities. For instance, when I speak of my standing in the community, it is backed by history. In 1999, I was honoured with the âBest Tantrik in Kolkataâ award by AIWAK at Mahajati Sadan. While I am grateful for the recognition, I view it as a responsibility to maintain the integrity of the practice rather than a tool for marketing.
Logic, Purity, and Maa Tara
I have seen many tantriks perform Yagyas, or rituals, while under the influence of alcohol, claiming it is a ritualistic necessity. I ask you to use your logic.
No human mother would want to see her son in a state of intoxication. If that is true for our earthly mothers, how could Maa Taraâthe Divine Motherâwant her son to worship her while drunk? This is a noble path that requires a clear mind and a pure heart. If a practitioner relies on substances to “connect” with the divine, you must question the authenticity of that connection.
Conclusion: Finding Genuine Help
Finding a spiritual solution to your lifeâs problems requires more than a Google search for a title. It requires finding someone who views their work as a service, who respects the privacy of the ritual, and who operates with transparency and logic.
My mission at Ramapada Acharjee (M/s Acharjee Astro-Web Inc.) is to provide honest, deep-rooted spiritual guidance that respects the traditions passed down through my lineage.
