- Comfort and meaning: Astrology can offer a sense of purpose and belonging. It can help people feel connected to something larger than themselves, especially during difficult times.
- Barnum effect: Astrologers craft horoscopes with vague wording and broad personality traits that can apply to almost anyone. This, combined with our tendency to focus on information that confirms our existing beliefs. It can make us feel like our horoscopes are eerily accurate.
